Day @ the Beach - 7.16.07
I took off Monday to get out of town and out of work mode. I really didn't take any time off my first year and a half in business and then I realized that my life was lacking any variety. I went to Louisiana with a client for two weeks and even though there was business involved I found it very difficult to step away. My business is my child, I want to nurture it and watch its every step, but I need to keep it in perspective. So day trips are a better fit for me right now.

I really enjoy the beach. We generally go to Atlantic City as there aren't any tag people hunting you down, the parking is plentiful and cheap, and being a woman - the bathrooms at the casinos are a huge plus. I grew up in the Atlantic City area so that is another comfort factor. My brother lived down there longer and knows the back roads better then my Garmin. I tend to be a creature of habit with some spontaneity thrown in. I like my relatively dull life - the lack of drama is a huge perk. I am blessed with good friends and a loving supportive family.

We parked the car at Bally's and the blanket in front of the beach bar at Caesar's. We had pleasant music from the bar on one side and crashing waves on the other. I had a couple of books, a magazine, and good company.

We finished the day with dinner at the Flying Cloud Cafe in the Inlet area. The waiter was kind enough to get the kitchen to prepare oysters which appeared on the lunch menu but not dinner for my friend. My brother had crab cakes that were mostly crab like they should be, and I did my best to daintily eat Alaskan king crab legs. I get teased by just about everyone in my circle about being well mannered at the table. I don't mind, I think it is great to laugh with my friends at my quirks and I will laugh at theirs.

I hope that your life is filled with laughter and good company as well.
